The Pöllauer Tal Nature Park in Eastern Styria is an oasis of tranquility, diversity, and cultural depth. Spanning approximately 124 km² between 345 m and 1,280 m above sea level, it features a gently rolling mosaic of forests, traditional orchards, vineyards, and traditional farms.
A distinctive feature is the Hirschbirne – an old Styrian pear variety – which thrives between vineyards and rows of apple trees and is closely intertwined with the regional culinary scene.
For active visitors, there are over 180 km of marked hiking and walking trails, numerous cycling routes, and adventure trails leading to the Naturkraftpark – with stations for feeling, smelling, and listening.
Culture and indulgence enthusiasts will also find plenty to enjoy: Baroque churches, castles, and traditional Buschenschänken (wine taverns) characterize the landscape, as do hidden natural gems with rare plant species and geological peculiarities like the Pikeroifelsen rock formation.
Here, nature conservation, rural tradition, and tourist experiences unite to form a harmonious whole – offering ample space to breathe, discover, and enjoy.
