The Bad Waltersdorf Culinary Tour is one of Styria’s most beautiful culinary and adventure trails, combining exercise, nature and regional cuisine over around 12 kilometres to create a truly unique holiday experience. Whether hiking, (e-)mountain biking or taking a leisurely stroll – the route, which is accessible year-round, is ideal for food lovers, active holidaymakers and families.

The varied route leads through gentle hills, vineyards, meadows and small woodlands, repeatedly opening up impressive views over the Bad Waltersdorf 2-spa region. Perfect for anyone who wants to experience nature while discovering regional specialities.

25 adventure and culinary stops – food and drink along the route
Along the Culinary Tour, a total of 25 adventure and culinary stops await you, including 16 culinary highlights. From traditional wine taverns (Buschenschänken) and cosy inns to farm shops and direct marketers, you can enjoy authentic Styrian specialities straight from the producer. Whether coffee & cake, a hearty snack or a glass of regional wine – each stop invites you to linger, discover and enjoy.

From here, the Culinary Tour follows idyllic paths through the region and, after just a short distance, reaches the Heilthermen Resort as stop 4 on the route. Along the way, you’ll find family-run businesses, scenic viewpoints and varied experience stations that perfectly combine nature and cuisine.

Along the Culinary Tour, one highlight follows the next: from the Maluhof with its impressive panoramic view over the Sauberg to the panoramic terrace at the Bergstadl wine tavern, the region’s diversity unfolds in its most beautiful form. The experience is complemented by numerous varied leisure activities along the route – including an 18-hole golf course, a balloon centre with fascinating hot-air balloon rides, a blowpipe and archery course, and a small motor skills park at the Gasthof-Restaurant Teuschler-Mogg. Trail info

The trail is partly paved, runs over forest ground or gravel, and there are short climbs to master along the way. The entire tour is easy to manage on foot or with an e-mountain bike if you have a moderate level of fitness. The route is also suitable for strollers; for this, the ascent to the Maluhof via Thermenstraße (healing thermal baths to Steirerhof) is recommended—not through the forest section.
