The Chapel of Happiness on Masenberg impressively rises at an altitude of 1,261 meters above the landscape of Masenberg in Eastern Styria. In 2008, the chapel took on its current form when the hotelier family Wilfinger relocated an old village chapel to this special spot. Inside, you’ll find a Fatima statue, an old crucifix, and eleven smaller icons — silent companions for devotion and contemplation.
Its location high above the valley promises expansive views and an atmosphere of peace and reflection. For hiking and nature enthusiasts, the path to the chapel is part of an experiential journey: the combination of landscape, spirituality, and history makes this a special destination.
Opening hours are:
Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 10:00 AM
Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from 09:00 AM
Wednesdays are a rest day.
Visitor information: Opening hours depend on the Masenberg mountain hut (Tel. +43 664 9142917) — the “Schutzhütte Masenberg” usually decides when access ends (mostly around 6:00 PM).
Whether as a meditative stop during a hike or as a destination for an excursion – the Glückskapelle on Masenberg invites you to linger, reflect, and enjoy nature.
