Origin – The Source of Life Energy

Deep within the earth, in layers between 1,200 and 1,400 meters, the Bad Waltersdorf thermal water originates – a gift of nature that brings around 1.9 million liters to the surface daily. With a spring temperature of 62°C and its high mineral content, it is a true wonder from the depths.

In our pools at Therme Bad Waltersdorf, it is tempered to a pleasant 36°C – just right to envelop body and senses, offering a feeling of warmth, security, and relaxation.

Effect – Naturally healing, noticeably soothing

The soft thermal water of Bad Waltersdorf is rich in minerals and trace elements – a natural source of regeneration. As a recognized healing spring, it unfolds its effects gently yet noticeably: it relaxes muscles, strengthens joints, and promotes blood circulation. As you drift in the warm water, tension and everyday worries dissolve on their own.

The Therme Bad Waltersdorf provides the ideal setting for this – a place to breathe deeply, let go, and recharge, whether for a short wellness stay or a relaxing break in Styria.

Sustainable Energy from the Depths – Austria's 1st Geothermal Spa in Bad Waltersdorf

Bad Waltersdorf proves that well-being and sustainability can go hand in hand: in 1981, Austria’s first geothermal heating system was put into operation here – a milestone for environmentally conscious energy generation. The natural waste heat from the thermal water is efficiently used to heat schools, the outdoor pool, as well as the Heiltherme Bad Waltersdorf and parts of the surrounding hotels. Thus, the power from the depths flows not only into the pools but also into the region itself.

With an impressive output of around 1,850 kW of heat per hour, Bad Waltersdorf stands for lived sustainability – and for a future that combines warmth with responsibility.
